Terms of Service & Disclaimer

Last revised: August 2026 · Effective immediately

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StatusOrbit ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Operational Disclaimer. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Informational & Operational Purpose

StatusOrbit is an independent developer operational newspaper and monitoring dashboard. It is engineered to provide software engineers, site reliability engineers (SREs), DevOps practitioners, and technical teams with rapid situational awareness regarding cloud outages, platform disruptions, security advisories (CVEs, CISA KEVs, malware), and software release lifecycles.

3. "As-Is" Operational Disclaimer & Vendor SLA Authority

Important Safety Notice: StatusOrbit aggregates information published on public status pages and security feeds. StatusOrbit is not an official contractual status provider or SLA certification tool for any monitored service.

Please note the following critical operational principles:

  • Primary Vendor Authority: Official provider status portals (such as AWS Health Dashboard, GitHub Status, Microsoft Azure Status, Google Cloud Service Health, Cloudflare Status, and Slack Status) remain the sole authoritative source of truth for contractual service levels, official incident timelines, and SLA credits.
  • Polling Cadences & Propagation: Ingestion runs on automated periodic intervals (15 minutes for service health, 2 hours for security advisories, 6 hours for platform changes, daily for lifecycles). Incidents beginning or resolving between polling cycles may experience a brief propagation offset.
  • No Critical Life Safety Use: StatusOrbit must not be used as the sole alerting mechanism for life-critical, emergency, or medical infrastructure.

4. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Trademarks

All product names, logos, brands, trademarks, and registered trademarks mentioned on StatusOrbit (including but not limited to Amazon Web Services, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, GitHub, GitLab, Docker, Slack, npm, Python, PyPI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Atlassian, Vercel, Datadog, PagerDuty, Sentry, Stripe) are the property of their respective owners.

Reference to these trademarks on StatusOrbit is made strictly for identification, operational news reporting, and fair-use informational purposes. StatusOrbit is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these third-party organizations.

5. Permitted & Acceptable Use

You are welcome to use StatusOrbit for personal workflows, engineering standup briefings, team operations, and dashboard displays. You agree not to launch Denial of Service (DoS) or excessive programmatic scraping attacks against our edge infrastructure or misrepresent StatusOrbit's aggregated summaries as official vendor-certified SLA statements.
