Privacy Policy

Last revised: August 2026 ยท Effective immediately

1. Zero-Tracking Philosophy

StatusOrbit is engineered as an independent operational intelligence dashboard for software engineers. The platform operates on a strict zero-surveillance, zero-account model.

We do not track you across the web, require user registration, sell telemetry data, or use advertising cookies.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To preserve developer privacy and operational focus:

  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or credentials.
  • No User Accounts or Passwords: There is no registration system.
  • No Tracking Pixels or Ad Networks: We do not load behavioral trackers or advertising cookies.
  • No Financial Profiles: StatusOrbit is a free operational resource requiring no payment details.

3. Client-Side Browser Storage (localStorage)

StatusOrbit uses browser local storage exclusively on your local device to power personalization:

  • statusorbit:user_prefs: Stores your saved technology stack filters (configured via the Preferences Wizard).
  • devbrief:lastVisit: Stores the timestamp of your last visit to highlight items that changed recently.

This data is never sent to our servers or any third parties. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings.

4. Public Data Ingestion & Storage

All operational signals, service disruptions, maintenance windows, CVE security advisories, and lifecycle milestones are ingested exclusively from public, authoritative upstream sources (official status portals, GitHub Advisory Database, CISA KEV, and official release schedules).

Backend aggregation runs on automated Cloudflare Workers cron jobs and stores public platform status without capturing visitor logs.

5. Authoritative External Links

StatusOrbit links directly to third-party vendor status portals (e.g., AWS, GitHub, Cloudflare, Slack, NVD). When you click an external link (marked with โ†—), you navigate to the third-party website, which is governed by its own privacy policies.
